You will ensure effective and efficient business management systems and procedures are established and maintained, that all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, and that the financial needs of the Community members are addressed.
You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

About the Role
We are seeking an organised individual to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Parish Priest, and who is self-motivated, extremely well planned and who has a high attention to detail.
As Parish Bookkeeper, your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to) the following:
Perform all financial management duties for the parish and providing the Parish Finance Committee with regular and comprehensive reports
Maintain and develop the parish accounting records through MYOB software, i.e.: cash receipts, cash payments and general ledger
Monthly bank reconciliations of all parish bank accounts
Generate financial statements when required and provide the Parish Priest and Finance Committee on scheduled meetings
Recording of pastoral income and expenses in MYOB and preparation of quarterly pastoral revenue and expenses Report
Preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statement
Manage the weekly banking collections and other fundraising appeals
Processing of payments to suppliers
Coordinate processing of staff payroll to the Chancery Payroll Bureau and maintain staff records
Preparation, printing and distribution of annual taxation receipts for parishioners
Preparation of Annual Parish Financial Report for audit
This position is a part-time role and based at Kingsgrove. Hours of work will be 20 hours per week, 8:30am start with flexible finish time, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Key Requirements
The Parish Bookkeeper will ideally possess the following knowledge, experience and qualifications:
A demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church
Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role or in a role encompassing the key areas of competency for this position
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church
Experience in dealing with people
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher (or similar software) and Outlook
Experience working with MYOB
Demonstrated commitment to service and a willingness to be accountable for performance
