About Us
The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney (the Archdiocese) covers a large area of Greater Sydney, from the Eastern Suburbs, north to Mosman and the lower north shore, west to Austral and south to the Shire. As well as nurturing the spiritual lives of hundreds of thousands of Catholics, the Archdiocese supports thousands more in the local community through health and aged care, education, welfare and community services.
Recently appointed Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese, Fr Tony Percy, will soon be commencing in his new role, and we are now seeking to appoint a Private Secretary who will work closely with the Auxiliary Bishop to provide high-level executive and administrative support and to ensure he is able to fulfil his commitments to parish communities and the works of the Archdiocese more broadly.

You will summarise papers and documents, prepare briefings and reports as well as maintain minutes and records of various committee meetings when required.
Initiating, tracking and assisting in the progress of matters with respect to the Auxiliary Bishop’s role will be a key feature of this role, as will the coordination of travel arrangements and events.
As part of his ministry, the Auxiliary Bishop will be required to attend meetings, conferences, lectures and other forums, and so you will be required to prepare documents and other materials across a range of media in preparation for those commitments.
You will liaise with parishes, agencies, schools and other entities that partner with the Archdiocese on matters relating to their ministry and work and to prepare liturgies at which the Auxiliary Bishop will be presiding.
This is a full-time role based at the Archdiocese of Sydney’s office at Leichhardt. Some travel will be required for this position.

You will be a seasoned professional with exceptional interpersonal and communications skills and with a natural flair for organising and supporting senior leaders. More specifically, the Private Secretary will ideally possess the following Key Requirements:
